Coast businesses putting sustainability on the map
On Wednesday the 2nd of December we were honoured to join our event partners Mercedes-Benz Sunshine Coast, Sunshine Coast Council and The Good Place Kawana, to roll out ‘Leading the way with sustainability - Benefits on culture, community and the bottom line in 2021’ at Noosa Springs Golf Resort & Spa.
Guests arrived at this special event via ‘green carpet’ before enjoying a two-course menu with beverages and heard from sustainability champions on how their actions have positively impacted their team culture, community influence and bottom line.
Paul Fisher, CEO of Regional Development Australia (Sunshine Coast), commenced with a key-note on the economic state of the Sunshine Coast region and more specifically, the economic benefits of adopting a sustainable approach to business. This message was further explored by businesses that have rubber on the road in this regard included Bob & Chris Cameron of Rockcote, Cyndi O’Meara of Changing Habits, and Andrew Laing of Mercedes-Benz Sunshine Coast.
The panellist shared specific examples of how sustainability saves their businesses money along with significantly enhancing their team culture and their reputation in the community. Guests were encouraged to question their own approach to business and provided practical possibilities for their own sustainable future.
Throughout the night, we also unpacked new industries that emerge within this arena and opportunities for economic benefit within our region.
Event partners Mercedes-Benz Sunshine Coast, also utilised this opportunity to show off their brand new, all electric EQC. This was a perfect celebration of Cyndy O’Meara’s ambassadorship of the EQC.
Thank you to our event partners for sharing our passion for this topic and to the guests who attended. You helped us create not only another world-class Sunshine Coast event, but also one that has world-changing outcomes.
