We are proud to support the Kawana Chamber of Commerce with their Power of Local event. Please find event description below:
How many COVID stories have you heard that included one local coming to the rescue of another local? How good did it feel to return to our local coffee shops and support a local family doing it tough!
Well now the Kawana Chamber wants to celebrate the power that comes from collaborating and connecting with your local community, because guess what – this is not a COVID business strategy, it is an everyday business strategy that works!
At our final breakfast for the year we bring together four businesses who have gone over and above to implement strategies that place local front and centre and who pride themselves on being locally focused. Together they will share strategies for your business success and real-life examples of how focusing on supporting each other has serious return on investment.
Nuggett from Hot 91’s new locally produced Drive Show, Nugget & Al, will be hosting the panel discussion thanks to the support of our radio partner, Hot 91.
On Tuesday, 17th of November our powerful panel will include:
- Roz White - White’s IGA
Co-owner of White's IGA and five IGA's across Queensland, Roz is the driving force behind the business which over the past 25 years, has grown from a small corner store to a group of multi-award winning, market leading stores. During our event, Roz will showcase her incredible support of the local community which has lead to business opportunities for White’s IGA, highlighting her innovative ‘Locavore’ program. Roz will share her personal experiences of how operating business this way has taken her on an incredible journey of growth.
- Darryl Olson - My Weekly Preview
With 38 years’ experience in the media, publishing, and specifically the advertising industry, Darryl will reflect on the local business success stories and collaborations he has witnessed, including his personal strategic moves to develop an even more enriched local focus at My Weekly Preview with his recent expansion. My Weekly Preview recently became the print media partner of the Kawana Chamber and we can’t wait to introduce you to Darryl.
- James McGovern – The Good Place
James is new to the Sunshine Coast having moved from Sydney in July 2020 to establish The Good Place at Kawana Shopping World. Every business philosophy behind The Good Place has a local focus, from where they source their produce, their involvement in community gardens, supporting local events, instigating beach cleans (with coffee, of course). James is a perfect example of what you can do to position your business for success. James also recently joined the Kawana Chamber Committee and we look forward to sharing him with you.
- Simon Nedelko - Hot 91 & Zinc 96
With more than 25 years’ media experience, Simon has seen firsthand how building quality relationships leads to enhanced sales results. Simon is passionate about the value of local connections and their impact on your business success. During COVID, Hot 91 implemented local give back programs and initiatives to support their clients and to keep their local team engaged.
Join us to glean powerful strategies for your business success and to witness firsthand how being locally focused reaps rewards (especially as we have seen in recent COVID times and our strong community collaborating for survival!).
